S. M. COURT.
The monthly sitting of the S.M. Court was held in the Court House yesterday, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. BY-LAW CASES. For permitting cattle to wander within the borough, George Rankin was fined 5/-, with costs 7/- and William Aldridge 10/- with costs 7/-. CIVIL CASES. .lodgment was given for plaintiff by default, in the following civil cases: —George Roberts v. H. Ashcroft, claim £1 1/-, costs 12/-; M. Aldridge v. same, claim £35 10/-, costs £4 5/6. .Judgment for plaintiff >yas given in fiie case of E. Erieksen v. Tuna Rnri, claim £2l 3/4, costs £4 19/-. . Jji the defended case, Hollings v. Woodroofe, adjourned from last Court day, the S.M. found for defendant with costs. In summing up, the S.M. said that on the evidence, he did not consider Hollings had been instructed to take proceedings by defendant. Defendant may have advanced the money to Tollison to take action but this money appear'd to have been paid back in installments. In his opinion Tollison had instructed counsel.
