ODDFELLOWS’ CONCERT.

The lpeal Oddfellows’ held a concert in the Town Hall on Tuesday night, in aid of Sister D. Morgan, the Sports Queen candidate. Owing to many counter attractions, there was not a very large audience. The band rendered several selections out side the hall prior to the entertainment. The concert was presided over by Mr H. C. Patterson. The opening item was an overtire by the Blue and White orchestra. Those who contributed vocal items were Messrs R. Barron, Smith, Hinds and the Maori quartette (Ellers, Hapi, and McGregor 2); Misses I. and M. Patterson, D. and H. Morgan and Miss F. Chalk. Misses E. Patterson and M. Delany rendered pianoforte duets and Miss ,T. Robinson was accorded a great reception with her Highland dancing. Mrs Murphy gave a fine exhibition of clog dancing. Mr Baden Barnet contributed a recitation and had to respond to an encore as did Master Tawhiti Hirini with his vocal item “Mr Booze.” Miss F. Chalk, by request, sang “Venetian” and was accorded a good reception. The accompaniments were played by Misses Healey, Delany and H. Morgan and Mrs T. Ellers. At the conclusion of the concert Mr Bert. Hinds returned thanks to those present for their assistance. The concert was followed by a dance.
