FURTHER RISE IN PRICES.

AT WF/LLPNGTO.N WOOL SALES. Wellington, November 17.

The first wool sale of the Dominion series was inaugurated with phenomenal prices and an unusually large bench of buyers, Bradfoid and America keenly competing for crossbreds and Romneys. Prices for these were from 24d to 28d per pound. An exceptional lot of half-breds brought 354 d. Prices were fully 100 per cent, above those last November and 4d to 5d over last March sales and much in excess of the London October sales’ parity. There was the keenest competition for nieces and bellies. Even necks brought up to 27d. The sale is proceeding at white heat.
