The cuddling competition was held on the tennis court and was a very mysterious a flair, and some said the adjudication was a put up affair. Anyhow Mr Christofl'erson and Miss Walls wi re awarded the prize despite the protest of the gentleman that he had not been guilty of even a squeeze. Tin- pair, however, were united in tin' bonds of wedlock according to Maori i-ustom by Kangi. Miss Healey oflieiating as “bridesmaid" and Mr Gilbert as “best man." The burlesque ceremony was thoroughly enjoyed. The supper was held around st camp tire in the open, Potatoes and pipis were cooked in a Maori uniu and were served on paper with snvaloys —followed by cakes, etc*. The music, was supplied by Miss Healey and Mr Burling and Air M. Perreau officiated as M.C. During the evening Messrs Gilbert, IS. Barber and Jewell, the Moutoa three, gave a vocal trio. The function broke up at 1 a.m. when votes of thanks were passed and “Auld Lang Syne" sung and good wishes expressed for the success of the. farmers’ Queen candidate, Miss Satlieiiey, who was in attendance.
