ROYAL PICTURES. To-night at the Royal Theatre, patrons will he given something out of the ordinary. There will he a double programme submitted for your approval at ordinary prices, 1 - and 2/-. The picture to be screened is a gripping one, entitled “The Age of Desire,” with a charming cast, headed by Alary Philbin. It is a First National Special Attraction. The second half of the programme will be taken up by a concert hy the Wanganui Queen Alexandra Band and local talent. A fine entertainment worth double the money. On Monday night “Aliasing Daughters," an exciting melodrama, is to tie featured. Thrilling aeroplane stunts and many adventures experienced by two girls are the features of the picture, which seeks to expose the methods of the white slave traffic. Miss Eva Novak is the star. The supporting films are also good. TOM AMX AT THE TOWN HALL. One of the outstanding features of “North of the Yukon,” the Tom Mix special feature at the Town Halt to-night, is the startling character of the story. This town and the Town Hall have had “snow” pictures before, but have never seen i lie- whose exciting scenes are so striking as “North of the Yukon.” Mix's special stunts this time include a great tight against a wolf pack and a sensational canoe trip over a raging waterfall. Colour photography is used in the picture, which presents some beautiful scenic effects. In addition to the big feature a Sunshine Comedy: “The Book Agent,” and the latest world’s News will he screened. Prices are a> usual, 9d and 1/6, children 3d and fid.
On Monday evening the big stage feature. “Tiger Rose'" is to be offered. This drama has been a big sin cess oti the stage where the Stirling adventures of a fiery girl of the North West appealed greatly. A comedy, "Winter Has Come," and the latest Bathe News are also on the bill. CITIZENS’ CANDIDATE BALL The Citizens’ Candidate Committee advertise a ball in the fowii Hall in aid of their £>ueen for Thursday next. Invitations not necessary.
