BOWLING.

Yesterday afternoon a game was played for flic Nye Ferns between a rink skipped by Roore (ehallenoors) and Walker (holders). A close game was contested throughout, the result being decided in favour of Roore actually by the last bowl of the twenty-first head, when Roore, being two down (with the scores 14-14 on the twentieths), sent up a yard-on shot and carried Kitty through for two. A meeting of Committee will he held at the usual place to-morrow evening at 7.30 o’clock. ANNUAL MEETING OF CENTRE. The annual meeting of the Manawatu Bowling Centre was held at Palmerston N. on Tuesday, the president (Mr J. A. Nash) presiding. Tn moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman state*! that the entiles for the Centre's Easter tournament were not as numerous as was desired, but this could only he expected in view of (lie Wanganui tourney. At the last annual meeting it was decided to come to some arrangement with Wanganui and Taranaki, and the Centre had since conferred with Wanganui, offering to forgo the Centre tournament in the New Year. An arrangement of reciprocity in the matter of respective tournaments had been decided upon as a result. The chairman stated that if the Manawatu Centre did not make some endeavour and send as many rinks as possible to Wanganui, the latter could not he expected to hold to the arrangement and support the Centre's own tournament. Tn commenting on the Centre’s tours during the past year, Mr Nash said that the Centre had probably attempted too much in launching upon so many tours in one season. However, the Centre owed a visit to Auckland and the Waikato and if it could he arranged these visits could he paid in one trip. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows President : Air 0. D. Fraser; vicepresidents: Messrs H. B. Horne, and W. E. Jones: executive: Messrs F. Needham (P.N.), G. H. Trott (Pallia tua), J. A. Nash (Dannevirke), E. Spencer (Shannon), J. Huffman (Feilffing), A. W. Gallichan (Takaio). J. Davidson (Terrace End), G. Waldrop (Woodville), A. N. Smith (Eoxton), R. Ross (Manawatu), W. X. Tapp secretary and treasurer: Mr A. F. Wimsett. DOMINION TOURNAMENT.

A letter was received from the Dominion Bowling Association, Auckland Centre, in regard to the forthcoming Dominion Association tournament, forwarding a resolution unanimously adopted by the Auckland Centre: —“That this Centre protests against the conditions of play in the Dominion pairs, only one da Us play being guaranteed, and recommends that the system of play be the same as last year.” The chairman said that the event was far too long; four days were taken up with rinks, and then there v.as the entries for the singles and pairs making the fixture too unwieldy.—No action was taken. Tl was decided that the executive consist of one delegate from cadi club, affiliated to the Centre. It was resolved that the various clubs be written to, asking if they desired to send in nominations for the Munson and Barr and Dixon Cups and that the order of play he balloted for.
