POLICE COURT.

At the local Police Court this morning, before Mr .1. I\. llomblovv, .1.1’., a liisi offending inebriate was roiivietcd and discharged. A local resident appeared on a eiiarge of commuting a grossly in-de.-ent act. within view of a public place, to wit, Main St., yesterday. Accused consented to be dealt with summarily 'and pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given by Constable I .‘van and Air MeKuight as to witnessing the act. Accused stated that lie suffered from a certain weakness and the act was unintentional. eH had had several drinks. The seriousness of the offence was stressed, by the Bench and the accused consented to the issue of a prohibition order and was convicted and discharged.
