Yesterday a handicap pairs tournament was held on the local green. Despite a fairly stiff wind, the green played evenly and well, and a good day’s sport resulted, 'fen pairs assembled and took part in the contest, {day commencing about 10 a.m four games of 15 heads constituting the day’s programme. The following are the resllts: — floss and Wall 1 wins: Chrigtie :,nd .Manor. ! wins: Thomson and l'urkes .1 wins; Smith find Bollings, wins; !{oui-i- and Dug. Christie 2 wins: Head and Wilson, 2 wins: Huntley and Walton 1 win: Barr and I'earson 1 win: Downes and Hornblow- no wins: Healey and Mason no w ins. Ross and Wail and Christie and Maitar having four wins each, had to {day off for the final. The conditions of play stipulated three extra heads in i-a-i- of a tie, and Ross got 4 on Christie on the first head, and i 'bristle registered one on each of ibe two subsequent ends, leaving Ri.ss and Wall the winners. Bulls given will be officially opened 11. -morrow, and it is anticipated iwo rinks will be present from Boston.
