CORRESPONDENCE .
(To The Editor.) Sir, —May T be allowed to call the Borough Council’s attention to the dangerous and disgraceful condition of the road facing the racecourse and leading into Park Street. It is a continuation of pot-holes and a very good reason why the travelling public avoid the business part of the town. Could the Mayor arrange for a loan from the Beautifying Society to get tins necessary work carried out? Thanking you in rmticipntion.—Yours etc. ECONOMY.
Sir, —Some time ago, the Borough Council decided on the construction of certain footpaths and stated, according to vour report of a meeting, (hut no new works were to be earned out until these were done. Yet ai the last meeting it. was decided to asphalt a portion of the road opposite the Town Hall for the convenience of fortunate motor passim - gei-s who might get their tootsies wet in stepping from the cars tn their plaee of amusement, while ratepayi is. who arc denied footpaths, must tramp along slushy roads to the same place. It strikes me, sir, that tlie only means of getting satisfaction is for people to get on to tlie Council to- pull strings for their own benefit. —Yours etc. RATEPAYER,
