RIMUTAKA RAILWAY DEVIATION.
WAIRARAPA’S PROTEST. DEPUTATION TO PRIME MINISTER. MastoiTon, October 14. At a meeting last night representative of the whole of the Wairorapa, a vigorous protest was made ngainst the postponement of (lie Rimutaka deviation. The following motion was carried; — “That this fully representative meeting of the whole of the Wairarapn district emphatically enters a protest against the postponement of the Rimutaka deviation for a period of five years and declares that the national importance of the project calls for the early commencement of the work.” “That, a deputation wait upon the Prime Minister in support of the resolution.”
