FOXTON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.
ANNUAL AIEFTING
The annual meeting of the above club was held in Hamer’s Buildings last night, when there was a good at tendance of local riflemen present, presided over by Afr S. Head (president). The balance sheet disclosed a • redit balance of £5.10/C, which, taking into consideration the improvements effected at the range last year, and the heavy expenses incurred during the season, is a very satisfactory state of affairs. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
The flection of officers resulted as follows:—
Patron: F. Robinson, Esq.; vicepatron: Linklater, Esq., ALP.; president: Mr A. E. Admore; vicepresidents: Messrs C. Rand. S. Head, ami C. Symons; secretary: Mr \V. Symons: auditor: Air F. b’immcr; committee: Alessrs Head, Hartley, Kami. Hamer, Walsh, Admoiv and Symons; selection committee: Messrs Hartley, Rand and A Barnard. Air A. Barnard was elected assistant secretary.
PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES
At this juncture Air S. Head (who refused re-election as presklent, on the grounds that lie was of opinion that the presidentship of the Club should be rotary) vacated the chair in favour of Air Admore, the newlyelected president,.
Air Admore briefly thanked members for the honour they had eonD ired upon him, and referred to jlie good work done by the re tiling {.resident and secretary (Air Hamer). He assured members fie would do his utmost to further the interests of ihe club. Air Admore then presented the following trophies, won last season:—
Patron’s trophy: Air A. Barnard ■ Mr S\ moil's trophy: Air A. Barnard. Mr A. Barnard also annexes Mr Alcivor's championship medal for the most points scored on the season's shooting. Yioe-patron’s, President’s and Airs Parkes’ trophies were all annexed by Air S. J. Hartley. The Claris Bowl, Collinson and CunningItaine’s and Air Admore’s trophies also went to Air A. Barnard. Air S. .1. Hartley was runner-up for the Claris Bowl. Cadets. —First: B, Head and J. Detain- tie; G. Tyer 5/-, liai'iley 2/6, Walsh 2/6, Chrystall 2 ’6. OPENING DAY. It was decided that Club's opening day be Saturday, November Ist. Arrangements were made for working bees to prepare the range and catty out necessary work at the lange lor opening day. li was decided that the club be divided into two teams, President v. \ ice-president in a match on the opening day. .id NEW ALE ALBERS. The following new members were elected: — Messrs X. Fast, C. Robertson, Hughes, Hurl, Lalmonds, Withers, (tingle, Pulman and Thompson. Decided that- members purchase 10(1 rounds of ammunition each at ilu* commencement of the season. of thanks wore accorded the Press,*thc ladies, retiring president and secretary, and Air flamer for the use of the room. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
