PROPOSED DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
1 INTERVIEW WITH MINISTER
The local Stale School Committee forwarded a petition to the Wanganui Education Board in support o* f the establishment of a District High School at Foxton some time hack. The Board endorsed the committee’s recommendation and forwarded same on to the Department for approval. A reply was subsequently received by the Board from the Director of Education to the effect that the application had been held over pending further consideration. The local committee, at its last meeting deputed the chairman (Mr J. K. Honihlow) to wait upon the Minister of Education (Hon. J. G. Parr) in furtherance of the request The chairman of committee accompanied by Mr J. Linklater, ALP., had an'interview with the Minister on Wednesday night, when the claims of Foxton were urged. I'he Minister promised to go fully into the matter and forward a reply at an early date.
