VALEDICTORY.
A POPULAR HEADMASTER.
A very pleasant function took place at the residence of Miss Maddever, Mangamntu, when Mr and Mrs Warwick and family were farewelled by a large number of friends on the we of their departure from Pahiatua to Foxton. Mr Ridgley, stationmaster at Pahiatua, presided, and made the presentation to Air and Airs Warwick, and family, of a large number of useful gifts. He referred to the success of AIT Warwick as headmaster of the Alangamatu school for the past five years. Apart from school duties, Air Warwick had been a keen tennis player and bowler and u member of various public bodies. Prior to the function, the guests had received many gifts from the Masrerton and Aiakairo districts, and the school children had presented Air Warwick with a set- of dessert knives. Other speakers were, Dr. Paterson, Messrs'J. G. Brechin, CL CL Taylor Richardson and Aliss Madclover, and Air Warwick returned thanks. The remainder of the evening was devoted to singing, games and dancing. fe* ii Air Warwick took up his duties at Foxton School on the Ist inst.
