UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION.
A well-attended committee meeting of the above was held in the Racing Club office on Thursday evening, presided over by Air AV. T. Jewell.
The balance-sheet in connection with the recent ball was submitted and disclosed a credit balance. It was unanimously decided to thank all who assisted to make the function such a social and financial success, especially Airs Proctor and her committee of ladies and Airs Pearson for the loan of decorations.
A general discussion was held in connection with the meeting to be held iji February on the racecourse. The programme will include horse events which will add to the interest of the meeting. A committee was set up to draw up a programme to be submitted to tbe next meeting to be held in November. Accounts were passed for payment and other minor matters dealt with.
The following committees wei'e set up:— Horse events. —Alessrs Neylon, S. Austin, Barber, 11. Robinson and Jewell (chairman), with power to add. Pedestrian and Children’s events. —Messrs Bryant, Smith, Christie, Pc-rreau and Parkin. Wood Chopping and Sawing events. —Alessrs Hutchins, Thomson, Alexander and Pearson.
