POISONED WITH WEED-KILLER Christchurch, Sept, 17. On September 9ill Alfred John Walker, a labourer, from the Chatham Islands, who was waiting to undergo an operation at the Christchurch Hospital, visited the Heathen! e howling green, where men were at work preparing the green for the coming season’s play. On a table was a bottle of weed-killer, and, in a spirit of fun lie placed it to his lips. The bottle was fuller than he aidii-lpated, and some of t.lie mixture went down his throat.
