ALL SAINTS LADIES’ GUILD.
The ladies of the above guild held a very successful afternoon in the Town Hall supper room yesterday. There was a very good attendance and business was brisk. Tn conjunction with the social afternoon a Bulb Show was held; 30 entries were made and the Rev. Air Perryman and Air E Afnrphy proved very good judges. Mrs Ale Murray obtained first prize in class A and B and Airs Ban’ first, prize in class C Both winners generously donated their prizes to the funds. The judging by popular vote resulted in only two people picking the prize-winners determined by the judges.
The Guild stall was in the hands of Alesdames Christie, F. Robinson, and G. Tver: flower stall, ATiss Inn Robinson; produce stall. Airs John Robinson and Airs Trueman, cake stall, Mrs James Robinson and Misses Grace and Lorna Robinson; afternoon tea, Airs P. Easton, Airs Walton, and Miss Ritchie. A specially attractive feature was n stall of artificial flowers made by Mesdames Gower and Heale.v. the flowers being very fine both in colour and form. This stall was very successfully managed by (lie two ladies mentioned.
Afys Downes contributed songs and Atiss Dent played an attractive programme of music. The funds of the Guild will be considerably augmented by the. day's effort. Thanks arc due to the ladies for their efforts, and to Mr Christie for his help in preparation. The next social afternoon will he held at Airs C. Pearson’s residence on the third Wednesday of next month, October 15th.
