SUNDAY FISHING.
In moving for leave to introduce the Sunday Fishing Bill in the House yesterday, Mr L. Mellvride (Napier) explained that the Bill was designed merely to prevent fishing on Sunday for trading purposes. Under the proposed Bill it would mean that the fishermen at Napieh \yould be able to get their Sunday off. As far as the storage of fish was concerned the only difference between the existing arrangement and that proposed would he that the fish would be held in cold storage at Napier on Sunday night and railed to Wellington on Monday, instead of at present remaining in cold storage at Wellington over the week end. The Bill was introduced and read a first time. . .
