BUTTER AND CHEESE CONTROL
London. August 33. The “Daily Mail” interviewed Mr Grounds, chairman of New Zealand’s Daily Control Board. He explained that New Zealand intended to deliver butter and cheese to the British consumer by more direct channels, reducing the price and eliminating speculating. When lie came to London Mr Grounds found that Americans had cornered large quantities of New Zealand butter, whereof supplies were short. “Speculation,” lie said, “is not confined to .Americans. It is the Board’s business to stop it and ensure a regular supply of the best. New Zealand produce in Britain throughout the year. We hope to eliminate the distributors who take no trouble to see that our butter is kept properly. New Zealand cannot afford to lose her reputation through ihe carelessness of a few firms.”
