LOCAL BODTER NEW PROPOSAL. Auckland, Last Night. A conference of representatives of local bodies llnmughout (lie province carried a resolution that: the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Bill are inadequate and affirmed Ihe necessity for a comprehensive measure to meet the demands of modern traffic. The conference decided iu favour of a. National Highways Board instead of a Main Highways Board, to take over the present Board's functions, but with enlarged proposals, covering the registration and licensing of vehicles.
