S.M. COURT
The monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held yesterday before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. MILITARY OFFENDER Andrew Brown, on a charge of failing to attend military drill was fined £5 wiih costs 7/- and on a furl her charge of failing to notify l lie Defence authorities of his change of address. after leaving Foxlon was fined £5 will costs 7/-. BY-LAW CASES. A. Gill, and K. Hodder, for driving motor vehicles within the borough at a speed in excess of that laid down by the by-laws were each fined £2 with costs 7/-. D. Patua.ka, on a similar charge was fined £2 with costs 17/-. S. Wilson, for riding a motor bike without a light within the borough after dark, was fined 10/willi costs 7/-.
T. King and C. Quartevman, for similar offences in respect to bicycles were, each fined 5/- with costs 7/-.
For riding bicycles footpaths within the borough, R. F. Bowe, J. Procter, and F. Wright were each fined 5 -- with costs 7/-.
On charges of allowing stock to wander within the borough, W. Aldridge, A. Collins and H. Hartley (all previous offenders) were each fined £1 with costs -7/-. T. Rangihcuea on a similar charge was fined 5/- with costs 7/-. In the above cases Mr. Bevgin represented the Corporation. ' CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered up for plaintiff, in the following civil undefended cases: — V. McDowell (Mr. Borgia) v. S. Smith, claim £1 9/9, costs 8/-; A. E. Tongs (Mr. Rollings) v. H. Ashcroft, claim £9 3/11, costs Cl 13/U; J. A. Hoffmann and Son v. S. Robinson, claim £5 11/6, costs If)/-; C. A. Easton v. J. Martin, claim £1 10/-, costs 8/-. JUDGMENT SUMMONS.
F. Edlin was ordered to pay the Foxton Borough Council £4 11/within one month, in default seven days imprisonment.
