WOMEN TEACHERS’ SALARIES.

UNFAIR DIFFERENTIATION. Wellington, August 20. A mass meeting of women teach-* ers was held to-day to protest against the differentiation between the salaries of men and women, and a. resolution protesting against the situation created by such schemes, l:i that they give rise to great discontent and that any scheme should he without question, just, fair and equitable to all sections, was carried unanimously.

Ti was stated that ttie principle of - differentiation was grossly unfair to women teachers and contrary t'i grading and efficiency. While salaries were based on this scheme, there would be grave discontent. and unrest among women of the teaching profession. Ti was aso decided to urge the executive of the Education Institute 1,, demand in the meantime a return tu the 1923 scale of salaries.
