Hokitika, August 15. Ernest Mein roe, of Totnra Elat, married, and in charge of the Public Works Department gang engaged in the erection of a new bridge <>vcr the Waikukupa river below Wniho gorge, was killed this morning. lie was working on the old structure when a portion of some heavy material fell, fatally crushing him. An inquest is being held at Waiho to-morrow.
