INFANT DIES FROM BURNS.

Timaru, Last Night. Nelson Partridge, aged 21 months, the son of a farmer, died in the public hospital to-day from burns suffered on Friday last. When the mother had dressed and seated the child hv the range tire in a chair to which it. was strapped, the child was given a comb with which to piny, and in a momentary absence <>J (he mother, the comb caught lire ami the child was burned on the legs and face. He was sent to the public hospital, where he appeared to he doing well until yesterday, when siptic absorption sel in and the child died. At the inquest a verdict that death was due to heart failure following shock and septic absorption caused by burns, aceideutallv received was returned.
