iff Sll it, IIUKUWiiENIA Nil,
On the Palnatua Showground yesterday the holders of the BebOiiigtoii Shield staffed off a challenge by Uorowheuua. Bush won by three tries to nil, the scorers being f. Gniwn, Reeve, JVloynihan. Bu&h played a forward game and k»pi the game tight. Horowhenua weakened by the absence of most of the combined representatives endeavoured to handle Lhe ball a policy that was not fitting to the circumstances of a heavy ground and ball. No doubt on a dry day the visitors tactics would have been more successful. Mr J. Hanary (Woodvilie,) refereed. me next game for the Shield will probably be played with Rangitikei at an early date.
The Paimerston X. High School rugby team defeated Wanganui College at Wanganui yesterday by 12 points to 11.
