A JURY'S BLUNDER.
BAN DIT WRONG FULLY’ SENTENCED TO DEATH.
Paris, 24ili July. Owing to a blunder by the jury, a bandit named Olphon-e Mourey was sentenced to death in error at the Seine Assizes. Mourey was charged with tiring at the police \Vhon arrested for robbery. Under the French law this is punishable with death men if' the police are not hit. The jury were equally divided on the capital charge, which was equivalent to a verdict of not guilty, but the jury's written verdict, which was lu:ailed to the Judge said guilty.
