FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A committee meeting of the above society was held in the Town Hall rest-room last night. There was a good attendance, presided over by the Rev. W. H. Walton (president). An apology for absence was received from Mr Symons. Jt was decided that the Spring Slmw be held on September 12th Iliis vear.

It decided to interview the headmaster of the local State school in an endeavour to obtain move school entries for the coming show. A good deal of discussion centred around the question of adding an open class to the Spring Show catalogue, it finally being decided to make .the addition and to allot a trophy to the value of £3 3/- for such open clAss, a sub-committee being appointed to purchase same. Alterations to the show shedule, as set out by the schedule revision committee, called for a good deal of discussion and many deletions and alterations were decided on. It was decided that the secretary make immediate arrangements for (lie printing of the spring show schedule.

The following judges were appointed: Cut blooms: Mr Gibson; decorative: .Mrs Lurie; cookery: Mr Whitehead (Palmerston North).
