P. AND T. OFFICERS DISAPPOINTED.
AT NEW SALARY GRADING.
Wellington, July 25,
Air Comb, secretary of the Post and Telegraph Ullieers’ Association commented to-day on the new schedule published in last night’s Gazette. He. said there, was, no doubt the.rank arid file of, the Association would: be-disappointed. f disappointment was justified .especially in view of the representations that had. been made, by . the Association. Tiie Postmaster-General had been asked to establish a public enquiry but this was refused. Tlie only conclusion was that the ease made out by the Association was so strong that the Department did not consider it convenient to allow the Association to present its ease in public. The schedule and lq-gradings had given substantial increases to the higher grade officers.
