COOKE—-DROFTLEGE. An exceedingly pretty wedding was cab-lira ted at All Saints’ Church, Foxton, yesterday, ‘23rd inxt., when Regina Alexandra, only dan-
ghtor of Mr arid Mrs Henry Droutlege. of Auckland, and neice of Air .T. F. TT. Drone Downs, was married to Walter Henry, fourth -am of Mr and Mrs William Mur.inch Cooke, of .Auckland. The Rev. \Y. TT. Wall on. vicar, was the officiating minister. As the bridal party mitered the church, (lie choir sang (hi- well-known hymn “The Yoii-e that Breathed O'er Eden.” Air Thnnibei- presiding at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of while duchess satin, embroidered with pearls ,-tml side llouneex of silver lace ennghl with orange blos-‘.-•viit - and a bmg court train draped from the shoulder-, lined with sil-w-i tissue. A wrenth of orange blossoms and large t rue-IoVOI’S knot Ol .tiver ribbon ornamented the end of the train. She also wore a lianti--iiine veil and coronet of orange lijo-sotiis and carried a shower bou.iiiel of while roses, clematis, maidenhair and asparagus ferns. The bride vv.-hs attended by two maid-, Aliss C. Conian, of Palmerston N.
and'- little Ruth Dunn, of Foxton. hath cousyis of the bride. The chief bridesmaid (Aliss Conian) was attired in sunset taffeta frock with pieoted frills and streamers, wearing a veil and wreath of roses and lilac and carried a shower bouquet of pink enmelias. hyacinths, maidenhair and asparagus ferns. The Title maid was train hearer, wearing a dainty frock of white satin and wreath of white daisies and embroidered veil. ATr -T. Conian. "f Ornna Downs, acted ns best man. The bride’s mother wore a grey gabardine tailor-made costume, lu-a-vilv embroidered with grey silk and black panne velvet hat, and Aims Archer, of Auckland, (aunt of the bride) a navy serge tailored costume and toque to match. After the ceremony all adjourned te Walls’ tea rooms, where the n>i option was held, about forty guests being present. The usual toa.-ts were honoured, the Rev. Walton proposing that of the bride and bride‘.rvooni, w liieh was >sponded to by the bridegroom. Mr E. Conian proposed that of the bride’s parents, to which Mr Drdiitlege Replied and Rev. Walton that of the bridegroom’s parents, who were unable to be present. The hridemaidV toast* was entrusted to ATr Fcrgusson and replied to by the bestman. The bridegroom's present.to the hiide was a sol of fox furs, tp the chief bridesmaid a diamond and aquamarine dress ring and to '.lie trainliearer a gold brooch.
