SERIOUS CHARGE.
Dunedin, July 18. Waiter Batlarbee, 38 years of age, married, and u farmer by occupation, living in the Waikouaiti district was charged on remand wth carnal knowledge, attempted* earmil knowledge and indecent assault on three girls and two boys, all of whom are under the age of 12 years atifl who are hoarded out from institutions. '' T The court was cleared during the hearing of the evidence. j AD- B. S. Irwin appeared for the accused, and Chief-Detective Lewis prosecuted, ... After hearing evidence the accused was remanded till Tuesday.
