OLIVER—CONLAN

She was attended by her niece. Miss C. Conlan, of I’ulmersfon Xorth, as bridesmaid.. who wore a frock of pink and silver shot taffeta with tiny enisled flip-, and pearl ornament, with shoes and stockings to match and black velvet hal, carrying a bouquet of pink roses and asparagus fern. Mr Rainier, of Temuka, tided as best man. The mother of the bridegroom AlrsfOliverr- wore a dress of fawn gabardine with oriental embroideries and Mrs Conlan, the bride's mother, black silk morocain, trimmed with jet and hand-embroidered. Mr Thornber presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Oroua Downs hall where over 150 guests (some from Auckland, New Plymouth and Wellington) sat down to the wedding breakfast at which the usual toasts were honoured as follows: “Bride and bridegroom,” proposed l.y the Rev. Walton and responded to by tile bridegroom; “The Bride’s parents,” proposed by Mr Hartley, of Manawatu Heads, and replied to by Mr E. Conlan on behalf of his parents; “The bridegroom’s mother" -by Mr VaMender and “The Ladies” coupled with that of the bridesmaid, l,\ Mr E. Fergusson and responded !.. by Mrs A. Scot, of Rongotea. The wedding cake was a beautiful three decker, made by the bride’s sister.
