CHINESE SOCCER TEAM.
ARRIVAL TN WELLINGTON
The Chinese Soccer team, which arrived in Wellington on Tuesday, in good health and spirits, represents the cream of Chinese Soccer players and all are University students. The team was met by the Chinese Consul, Mr Lee Kwaug Hong, presidents of the Chinese Association, Chinese Masonic Society, Nationalist League, and the i hairman and members of the New Zealand and Wellington Football Association, and presented with mascots by two little Chinese maid-
Oils. Mr IT. G. Mayor, chairman of the Dominion Council, expressed a cordial welcome, and Mr A. Dome, manager, responded, and cheers were exchanged. A practice in the afternoon demonstrated that the visitors had a considerable knowledge of the game. A civic reception was accorded I hem yesterday and a number of other functions are to be arranged. The leam play Waira.rapa at Masieiton to-day, and Wellington on Saturday. The team’s banner is the Chinese Republican ilag.
