SUED FOR ASSAULT.
Chrstchurch, Yesterday. Henry Robert Wilkinson, a Methodist lay preacher and ex-school master, was sued in the Magistrate's Court this morning byMaude Eva Noble, widow, for Y6O damages for assault. il was stated that tbe couple met as the result of an advertisement, and became engaged. A dispute occurred and when plaintiff refused to give a gramaphoiie back, it was alleged defendant assaulted her. Judgment was for defendant.
