LEVIN-GREATFORD RAILWAY.
LEVIX FAVOURS PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN. The secretary of the Fox ton Chamber of Commerce wrote to the Levin Borough Council on Monday night, asking wether the Council would be willing to bear its share of certain publicity in the interests of the Levin-Greatford Railway devia lion, The Mayor, (Air Hobson) said lie thought something should be done*to keep this question alive. He favoured joining in an advertising committee to that end. Cr. Alertensen said it was not right to commit the Council to an unkown cost. He bad the impression (hat the Chamber of Commerce had leeeived an unexpected account for Cl (I from this League. Cr. Parker considered the Council should have more information on the subject. Or. Roe thought the Levin-Givaf-ford proposal should receive all publicity possible, especially in view of I lie policy to lay down light hues of railway.

Field (Otaki) has given notice to ask the Minister of Railways whether the proposal which ha> been before (he public for about 40 years, for the construction ~,■ a deviation of Ihe Main Trunk line from Levin by way of Foxton to Marton, comes within the order of reference of the commission recently appointed to consider our railway policy and administration.
