WEDDINGS.
HILE-HEAYNS. A very pretty wedding was solemnised on Wednesday last at St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, when Irene, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Heayns, of Rangiotu, was married, to Leonard, younger son of Mr and Mrs H. A. Ihle, of 4.‘i Pascal Street, Palmerston North. The officiating minister was the Rev." ,J. H. Bredin. of St. David’s Church, Terrace End. The bride’s gown was of white crepe de diene with orthodox veil, and orange blossoms and she entered the church mi the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr F. Farmer, Glen Oroua. The bridesmaid was Miss Ida Ihle, sister of the bridegroom, and she was daintily attired in satin moraeain with hat to match. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried beautiful bouquets made by Mrs J. Boyd, Terrace End, a friend of the bride. AH- Algar IT. Ihle, of Hamilton, acted as best man. Tim bridegroom’s present C* the bride was - a £old wristlet watch and to the bridesmaid a gold armlet. After the ceremony a reception was held at Boniface’s. Cuba Street, where the usual toasts were honoured. Eater in the afternoon the haply couple left by train for the north where they are spending their honeymoon prior to taking up their residence in Foxton.
The presents which were numerous. included severTtt-cheques. ARCUS—PAR-KIN. A very pretty wedding was celebrated in the local Methodist- Chur-i-h. which bad been tastefully decorated for the occasion, on Wednesday afternoon. The contracting parties were Colvin, eldest son of Air and Mrs P. L. Arcus, of Levin, and Afona May, youngest, daughter of Air and Mrs E. Parkin, of Foxton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. ALT Peryman, and the service was fully choral, the bride being a member of the choir. The bride, who was accompanied by her father, was attired in a satin duchess dress, angel sleeves, and side panels of radium silk lace, over silver tissue. The emblem of the rising sun, was daintily embroidered in seed pearls and .diamond ornament and trimming. The veil was of Brussels net, daintily embroidered and arranged in mob cap style, with orage blossoms and lily of the valley. The bride was attended by Aliss Nellie Robertson attired in brocaded pink crepe de chene, with itoral head dress, and Miss Vera Arcus (sister of the bridegroom), who wore brocaded heliotrope crepe de chene with lloral head-dress. Ivy Leaver, tile little niece of tl/e bride, made a charming ilower-girl, prettily cost limed in pale blue. The bouquets were in tone with the dresses. Air G. Arcus officiated as best man and Air P. Lingard as groomsman. 7 As the bridal party left the church, the bride was presented with a lloral horse-shoe with pink streamers by Aliss D. Arcus, of Wellington. The happy couple were Literally showered with confetti and good wishes upon leaving the church.
Subsequently a large number of guests were entertained at the breakfast in the Masonic Hall, when ihe usual toasts were honoured" and felicitous speeches made and numerous congratulatory messages read. Guests were present from as far south as Invercargill. The brißegrooin’s presents to the bridesmaids were gold armlet, pearl necklace and necklet to the flower girl.
The bride’s goiiig-uway dress was a fawn costume with hat en suit. The bride’s mother received the guests in a mole-satin moroeaiu, . with oriental trimming, hand embroidered hat en suit. The bridegroom's mother wore a black rnorocuiu dress with oriental trimmings. Both carried posies of violets. Among the numerous presents to the brute and bridegroom was a can-it-eu of •UL.iery from the Kiwi Hub. in the evening a large number«of guests were entertained at a nance in ilie Masonic bait. Mr ana Mrs Arcus left by motor for the south on ilieir honeymoon, after winch Lucy will lake up their res.deuce at Wlnrokinu.
