MANAWATU RABBIT BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Manawatu Rabbit Board was held in the county office, Sandon, on Thursday. Mr B. G. Gower presided, all of the members being present. The returning officer reported that the poll taken on the poposal to vote on an acreage basis had been carried.
It was resolved as follows: “That notice be given that it is the intention of the Board to make and levy a rate of two-pence per acre on all rateable property in the district.’’ “That the chairman and Trustee W. E. Barber he empowered to make arrangements for office accommodation at Foxton.” “That Mr Roorc Rangiheuea be appointed secretary to the board.”
The committee set up to classify applications for position of inspector to the hoard reported that 120 applications had been received. Of these 11 had been picked out and would be sent to the department for a report. The question will he further considered at the next meeting of the board and an appointment will then bo made.
