ANOTHER “MOTHER” MARY CARR SUCCESS.
Saturday next sees another Mary Carr picture at the Town Hall. The story of the “Custard Cup” and the character played by Mrs Carr are entirely different from anything in wlimh this tine actress has appeared. Optimism is the keynote of the ftorv and the chief distributor of sunshine and happiness is Mrs Penfield, known to her neighbours and adopted children as “Penzie.” The serious thread running through the plot is human and appealing, and there is a strong dramatic interest to many of the situations, hut it is the cheerful courage with which “Penzie” mees her own difficulties in life and helps her friends to solve theirs that should prove one of the lies! features of the picture. The club officials, assisted bv a ladies’ committee have made elaborate preparations to ensure the success of the function.
