Bill Brennan, known as “Knockout Bill,” the heavy-weight boxer, was shot and killed in the Trajuana Cabaret, of which he was the,proprietor. Haines Cullen, a Stale trooper, was shot in the neck while running to Brennan’s assistance. James Hughes and Frank Ttassi, believed to he two of (he hand of five murderers, are under arrest. Brennan was chatting when Hughes asked him to step outside for a moment.. Shots were heard just afterwards. Brennan's sister, an actress known as Shirley Sherman, said she ran outside and saw five men running away. The hand, aeeording to the police, are members of a gang called Hell’s Kitchen, who had borne a grudge against Brennan for some time. Brennan knocked out sixty-five opponents, and was only knocked nut h.v Dempsey, Firpn and Miske.
