When the staff of the Manawatu Bacon Factory at Palmerston N. arrived at work yesterday morning, it was discovered that a burglary laid evidently been projected over the week-end, but for some reason liad not been executed. A plug of gelignite had been placed in the keyhole ready for discharge, but the fuse had not been ignited. Had the intended burglars carried out their purpose," they would not have been rewarded for their efforts, as a member the company stated that there was uo money there, as “we bank on Saturday.”
