MOUTOA NOTES.
PRESENTATION TO MRS HALL.
There was a large attendance in the Montoa Hall last night at a most enjoyable social function held under the auspices of the Montoa Hall committee. Occasion was taken at a suitable interval to make a presentation to Mrs TLall by the settlers of Moutoa, Marotiri, Whilaunui and the school children prior to her departure. The presentation consisted of a substantial cheque. In making the presentation on behalf of the donors, Mr Perreau expressed the general regret felt at Mrs Hall’s departure. During her residence in the district, over a long period, Mrs Hall had given willing assistance t;o every deserving object, and had promoted the social welfare of the settlers. Her vocal talent had been in requisition far beyond Moutoa. At every function whether for adults <>r children, her services had been invaluable and the presentation was a small token of the esteem and affection in which she was held. He expressed every good wish for her future happiness. Air D. Campbell feelingly responded on behalf of Mrs Half and concluded by saying that Mrs Hall’s onlv regret was that she bad not been able to do more. Cheers and musical honours were accorded the recipient.
