HOROWHENUA RUGBY UNION

The Management Committee of the above met at Levin on Tuesday night. Messrs F. Robinson and S. Austin, local delegates, were in attendance and an apology was received from Mr Hutchins. Mr E. J. Nash presided. A discussion took place on the n instatement of players. It was decided to defer the hearing of McDonald’s application for reinstatement until next meeting. This player was suspended for life owing to the Claridge incident at Shannon. The Montoa Club wrote protesting against the rulin'* 1 of Mr Phillips (referee), stating members were penalised on numerous occasions contrary to the laws of the game. Mr Austin suggested that if the match affected the result of the championship it bo re-played.—Held over till next meeting. The Rahui Football Club wrote strongly protesting against decisions given by Mr Udv in their match with Hui Mai at Manakau on Saturday, and in support of the latter several members attended and gave evidence. They also protested ngainsf a man named Lampp playing —The latter matter, however, was later withdrawn, there being a misunderstanding over this player. After hearing lengthy evidence it was decided to uphold the referee’s decision. Norman Gill (Shannon) was reinstated as a junior.
