MANAWATU RABBIT BOARD
FTRST AIEETING. The first meeting of the Alanawatu Rabbit Board was held in the county office, Sandon, on Wednesday. Present: Trustees W. E. Barber, T. A. Grammar, R. Boswell, B. G. Gower, F. C. Raikes, .T. Gloyn, J. F. AlcKelvie and Air Flemming (Inspector of Stock). The following officers were appointed—Chairman: Afr P>. G. Gower: treasurer, Afr Barber; secretary pro tern, Afr A. K. Drew, It. was resolved: (1) That the regular meeting of the board be held at Foxton on the fourth Thursday of each month; (2) that, three Irustees form n quorum: (3) that members of the board be allowed 1/- per mile, one way, for travelling expenses to board meetings; (4) that copies of the Act be procured for the trustees; (5) that the chairman and treasurer arrange for. opening an account with the Bank of New Zealand at Foxton; (6) that Afessrs J. F. ARKelvie and F. C. Raikes represent the hoard at a conference to be held at Feifiling on (lie 20th hist, and also obtain information as to the condition of employment of the inspector and secretory; (7) that the following remit lie forwarded for consideration, at the conference at Feilding; “That, the Honourable the Minister for Agriculture be urged to have legislation passed to enable rabbit boards to enfore the provisions of the Rabbit. Nuisance Act in regard to Crown and Native lands; (8) that fhe next, meeting of the hoard be held at Sanson on the 29th inst.
