Ike receipts Tor the preceding nine inonUis amounted to £13,216,924, and me receipts for the Inst quarter w mo £9,749,446. The total ordinary revenue Tor the year was £27,960371. The expenditure Tor the year was £26,143,005 winch loaves a surpius oT £1,312,366. Tile expenditure sffows a decrease oi £iio,7oo and there has been a net increase iu revenue of £331,000; ' The principal -increase has ncen iu Customs. A comparison of the figures under the heading of expenditure for me last three years "makes it eviuem that the control under this head lias been weii maintained which is ail the more noteworthy iu view oi the natural expansion of the country. The public works expenditure Tor the past twelve months was practically at the same rate as Tor tlie previous year*. The prune Minister’s estimate of the revenue Tor the year was £27,969,U00, and the actual amount of revenue received was £27,960,371.
