OBJECTION TO VISIT OF SANITARY CONTRACTOR.
HOUSEHOLDER’S THREAT. At last night’s Council meeting the following letter was read: — “To the Mayor and. Councillors, Dear Sirs, —I take this opportunity to inform you that I refuse to allow Mr J. McKniglit on my premises and at the termination of Mr Parker’s employment as sanitary contractor I will make my own arrangements .for the disposal of • my nightsoil. Knowing Mr McKnight as T do, T shall eject him should he attempt to gain entrance to the premises.—Yours faithfully fSgnd.) E. G. Martin.” The Mayor said the letter was a threat. Ohe Councillor pointed out that it meant one service less for the sanitary contractor. He would not need to call and as nightsoil was not allowed to he buried in the garden the Health Inspector could be askch to inspect the premises. The letter was received.
