EARTHQUAKES.
POSSIBLE SKAT AT TAUPO. i’aurangu, May 5. Two slight earthquake shocks were experienced here this morning. Colonel Ward, who has a recording instrument reports that the first tremor., took place at 4.211 and that a much more. deiiuife .series of oscillations three minutes later showed movements along a line roughly joining Wanganui and Tauranga. ' The indications were - almost as V strong as the most forcible of the Taupo series two years ago and the general direction leads to the suspicion that the origin is in the same _ neighbourhood.
