The monthly meeting of the above was held in the Methodist schoolroom on Thursday last,'Mrs Banks presiding over a record attendance. An apology for absence was received from Mrs McDonald. The resignation of Mrs King as Cradle Roil superintendent was received with regret. Mi's Tongs was appointed to fill the vacancy. It was decided that the next quarterly meeting be iieid in the Salvation Army hall and inat the Baud ,of Hope be held on the last Friday of this month. A must interesting paper on the Annual Convention was then read by Airs Baalis, winch was listened to most attentively. Miss Duncan, in a few weil-choseu words then expressed her regret at the early departure of Banks for Hastings, and asked her Lo accept a handbag and bottle of smelling salts as a small token of esteem from the members. Mi's Banks feelingly responded. Afternoon tea was then handed round and was much appreciated. The meeting closed with a vote of . thanks to the offiders of the Methodist Church for the use of the schoolroom. A- retiring collection amounted to 14/9. A special vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Banks for a handsome donation to the local Union.
