BOROUGH HEALTH.
The Health inspector reported as follows, at last night’s Council meeting:— . "During the past Six months, two eased of diphtneria and one of food poisoning have been notihed. iu these cases, investigations were made to locate source, etc., and to prevent tne occurrence of further cases. Plumbing and drainage activities are now on the wane, moat of me reticulated area haying been completed.* in the few cases yet remaining to be done, iinance is the trouble with the majority. It is probable that legal proceedings may need to be taken to make some of me owners connect their premises with the sewer. Numerous complaints nave been attended to and inspections made in various parts As a result of a requisition, one liouse has been demolished and in other cases repairs have been effected; which rendered the premises concerned quite habitable. (Jr. Smith asked if the Health inspector ever made any milk tests locally, in doing'so he stressed the point that he was in no way casting any rellection on local milk vendors, but considered that tests should be made in the interests of public health. The Town Clerk pointed out that lusts were made periodically but when the milk was up. to test no report was made, it was only in eases where milk was below standard that Councillors heal'd of the tests being taken.
