ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
The annual general meeting of the Manawatu Football Association was held on Thursday night at Palmerston N., Mr John C. Young presiding over an attendance of 20 odd delegates. The report. * and balance-sheet were adopted after a full and free discussion. The following office-bearers were ejected for the 1924 season: — Patron: Mr .T. Dawber; president: Mr E. R. Winstauley; vice-presi-dents: Messrs H. Crouch, C. W. Duhcumb, J. S. Jenkinson, E. Kempson, S. R. Lancaster, F. Needham, D. W. Robertson. IT. L. Young, John C. Young; vice-president to N.Z. F.A.: Mr A. Varney; lion, treasurer: Mr John C. Young; hon.Vsecretary: Mr .J. R. Blackwell; lion, auditor: Mr W. R. Birnie; trustees: Messrs Goldfinch and Cousins; executive to he elected by nomination oi the clubs —one from each of the five senior clubs: Messrs F. C. Allerby (R.S.A.); J. C. Young (St. Andrews) ;D. W. Robertson (Foxton); J. S. Jenkinson (Dawbers) ; Ramblers still to nominate a member.
A letter was received from the X.Z.F.A. notifying proposal to arrange a match between the Imperial Squadron and Manawatu, May til li in; 7th, the parent body to take 15 per cent, of the net gate at Palmerston North, towards a fund for the visit of overseas’ teams. A letter was received from the X.Z.F.A. notifying preliminary' arrangements for the visit of a
Chinese University team to New Zealand. Major Associations would require to liml a guarantee of £350 for a match, and minor associations, such as Mauawatu, £IOO (of which £75 will be required very -hortly.) Tbe team will leave China about June loth.
