BV PALMERSTON NORTH RAILWAYMAN.

At a largely attended meeting of the Palmerston' NT urffleii 1 of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, held on Sunday afternoon, the following resolutions were unanimously carried: — “That this meeting of the Palmerston N. A.S.R.S. emphatically protests against the Railway Department’s representatives on = the Wages Board, who did not appear to intend Jo,,arbitrate, but who seemingly have been instructed to concentrate .on driving the Society back to the 48-hour week.” - “That this branch of the Society stands "retention of the 44 hours and increased wages. • - . . ..,, “That this branch- congratulates the president, Mr M. Connolly, on his Able advocacy' of tlie claims of the A?STEPS, before the Wages Board and that this meeting assures him of our wholehearted support and our couhdeuoe in him as presideutrpi the Society.”
