STATE SCHOOL SOCIAL

A very enjoyable social arranged b.v the local school staff and committee, together with their friends was held in the Masonic Hall last night. Mr Banks, headmaster, welcomed those present in a happy speech and set out the benefits derived from such gatherings. A very happy time was spent by those present, dancing, competitions and vocal and elocutionary items being intermingled. A tasty supper was provided and served by the staff. Vocal items were contributed by Misses Healey, Kelleher, King, Messrs Head and Tlornblow and recitations bv Mr Davidson and the Rev. Mr Walton. Airs Pearson and Misses Fahey, Dent, and Delany played the aeeompaniments and dance music. A special word of paise is due to (lie teaching, staff and particularly to the first assistant, Air Davidson, in organising and carrying out the details.
