A report from Pongaroa states that the body of a middle-aged man named James Devenie, was found in the Aohanga River. It had apparently been in (he water for nine or ten days. It is reported that de J teased had a brother living in Dunedin.
Blenheim, March 21. Airs Wedde, wife of R, Wedde, solicitor of Waipawa, who was visiting Picton disappeared in her night dress on Wednesday night and has not been seen since. She has been suffering from a nervous breakdown.
